The right getting left

(In response to The evangelical vote)

Re: your Observations (April) on the religious right. I spent time in the southern states recently. The religious right is now fracturing and will not be able to deliver the vote for the winner in November. Mid-term elections in 2006 delivered control of both Houses of Congress to the Democrats, with fewer evangelicals voting Republican. The number of Republican legislators not running again is higher than normal. The religious right has overreached itself and is now a fading influence in American politics. Thanks be to God.
